Book excerpt: The situation referred to as the "Charlottesville violence" occurred in August 2017 when protests in the area turned violent. This occurred when white supremacists clashed with demonstrators after one supremacist smashed his car into a crowd of anti-fascist and anti-racist protestors. The incident occurred in Charlottesville which is in the state of Virginia in the United States. It is a university town that has just over 46,000 people. Since this happened, the area has garnered attention as a place of white supremacist resurgence after many of the officials there voted to remove a statue of a Confederate General Robert E. Lee. This book will seek to cover many of the things that relate to this incident so the reader can be educated on the different things that happened during this time.
