Book excerpt: Excerpt from Vocational Agricultural Education by Home Projects The Act of Congress known as the smith-hughes Act requires at least six months a year of supervised practice in agriculture, either on a farm provided for by a school or on some other farm. This minimum requirement must be met by all who desire federal aid for vocational agricultural education. The home-project plan, reviewed in the following pages, meets this requirement. Plant projects, from the preparation of the land to the storage or the disposal of the products, have a natural life of fully six months.
