It may be sounded when it is full or when it is empty; when the patient is standing up or when he is sitting down. The long prepuce present here is due to the constant traction exerted upon it. The sound is now in the bladder, and upon fitting the sounding-board to it and bringing the distal end into contact with the stone, you can all plainly hear the rattling neise.
