The latter was a wild and reckless youth, frequently getting into trouble and causing his mother much sorrow. He was considered the terror of the town in which he lived. The bishop of the ward and his counselors met one evening to consider his case. They decided, provided the young man were agreeable, to send him to the Brigham Young College at Provo. They had two objects in this: first, to get rid of him, and second, to reform him. They offered to pay the expense of his tuition.
