This study highlights organizational change approaches and examines the impacts that changes have on employees, particularly employees at the Los Angeles County, Department of Public Social Services, Lincoln Heights District. It opens with a discussion of the meaning of organizational change as told by different authors throughout the literature. Once the meaning is established, the study describes reasons why organizations undergo changes in the first place with theories ranging from executive turnover and succession to corruption. Change management approaches are an important part of organizational change to ensure a successful implementation. This paper discusses the impacts and effects that organizational changes can have on employees, focusing on the Lincoln Heights District Office at DPSS. Semi structured interviews and group discussions are tools that would have been used to collect the data from employees at the Lincoln Heights office.
