The breed was initially developed to assist with tax collection in the late 1800s but is now a domesticated family pet. The Doberman Pinscher has a long muzzle which allows it to have an extremely strong bite. The breed stands on the toes of its feet rather than the foot pads. This gives the Doberman Pinscher a light footed and graceful gait.
