In this process, methanol is converted to Formaldehyde over a silver catalyst. The reaction product is distilled for methanol removal and recycle. The final product obtained is Formalin, a 37 wt% Formaldehyde solution, which is then combined with acetaldehyde for generating Pentaerythritol.
