The challenges are numerous for the ophthalmology professor in establishing a curriculum and providing a reference that is current, illustrated with color photos, videos, and illustrations, and within a student’s budget. In addition the text needs to be easily updated and should allow for self directed learning. We have focused our thoughts on these challenges as we developed and wrote this electronic book.
