Book excerpt: The Japan Fund for Public Policy Training was established in March 2004 as a trust fund to enhance developing member countries' capacity building for public policy management, focusing on regional economies in transition. Since its inception, the Government of Japan has contributed more than $22 million. The country director of the Asian Development Bank's Viet Nam Resident Mission acts as the program manager of the fund. The Public Policy Training Program's training facility in Ha Noi continues to operate efficiently with the establishment of strict administrative procedures and systems for the effective implementation of the technical assistance program.
