Book excerpt: The CMB's semi-annual report to Congress. Since its Oct. 1, 2000 report, the CMB has been working to monitor, analyze and review the Census Bureaus' final results for Census 2000. In an effort to better understand the issues at hand, the CMB commissioned 9 research projects to analyze and evaluate the result of the 1990 undercount. The undercount and its effects had been identified by communities of interest. The findings of those research projects were published and public meetings were held around the country. Their summaries are included in this report. Based on this information, the CMB has made several recommendations which are provided in this report.
