Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Cotton Situation, Vol. 160: Aug. 26, 1955 On July 27 the Department of Agriculture announced that the reason able carrying charges used ih setting minimum prices for unrestricted sales of cotton from 000 stocks would be lowered 501 points beginning August 1955. The legal minimum 000 sales price in a particular month is equal to 105 percent of the support price plus the reasonable carrying charge for that month.
