Book excerpt: Excerpt from The American Journal of Orthopedic Surgery, Vol. 1: August, 1903 While we are justified in accusing the family physician of sins, both of commission and omission, it may be proper for us to make an examination of conscience and see where we ourselves are at fault in our relation both to him and the pa tient. It cannot be denied that working along one special line has a tendency to narrow our point of view, and some times to the detriment of the patient. The family physi cian who is not thus hampered and whose field of vision is necessarily very much broader may frequently give us ma terial help in solving some perplexing problems.
