Chapter III is a reprint of Professor Greenlaw’s article, Spenser and the Earl of Leicester,’’ from Publications of the Modern Language Association 25 (1910) and Chapter IV is a reprint of his Spenser and British Imperialism” from Modern Philology 9 (1912).
