The use of this crop for feed and food is limited because it contains the neurotoxin B-N-oxalylamino-L-alanine (BOAA). A 3-year study was conducted to determine the effect of moisture addition by irrigation on BOAA concentration in the seed of the grass pea in light textured soil.
