Book excerpt: John Barclay III (ca. 1814-1888), son of John Barclay II (1790-1864) of Perthshire, Scotland, and Mary Ross Pitcairn (1816-1911) were married at Dumbarton, Scotland, in 1838. They had six children, born in Scotland and Quebec, Canada. The family first immigrated to Canada with members of the Pitcairn family, in 1842. They returned to Scotland in 1843; then returned to Canada, in 1859. Descendants listed, chiefly some of the descendants of their three youngest children, David Barclay (1842-1923); Agnes Ellen Barclay Morrison (d. 1879); and George Augustus Barclay (1850-1922), lived in Quebec, Ontario, Maine, and elsewhere.
