Plague Doctors, known as Baethoi, and their bodyguards the Prostati, are assigned by IAMA to serve as the only form of medical care for the districts. But when an outbreak of the Plague threatens to overrun a District, the first and most experienced Baethos, Blythe, is assigned to the case. What he discovers however is something far more than the usual outbreak. Something that threatens to bring down the last remaining semblance of order in the world.
