Born in 1928 in Albany WA, Marjorie came to national prominence in her field of stitched textiles in the 1970s and is still making new work aged in her 90s. The book is abundant with large colour images of Marjorie's artworks drawn from a lifetime of making, reflecting her thoughts and experiences as a contemporary Australian. Whilst her imagery is largely drawn from her familiar local flora and fauna, there are also works that deal with other matters of personal importance, including some strong political statements. The text features substantial reflections in Marjorie's own words regarding her varied inspirations and motivations, along with a selection of her thought-provoking poetry. There is a complete visual index detailing works made over more than half a century, accompanied by a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae. The publication includes a foreword by Janet Holmes à Court AC and essays by Grace Cochrane AM, Wendy Lugg, and Belinda von Mengersen. The book contains well over 300 images, many of them full bleed.
