Elizabeth has other hidden reasons for leaving England, but her brother finally agrees to her proposal to leave and insists she bring two servants with her on the journey. After weathering a severe storm on the ship, they arrive in America. Elizabeth meets her extended family and settles into the flow of life on their plantation. While learning more about her American family each day, Elizabeth finds her heart falling in love with this new land and for someone she did not expect.
